Tip #8: Activate Your Card
Once you receive your credit card, it won’t work until it’s activated. You can usually activate it via SMS, mobile app, online banking, or by calling customer service. Some cards require a PIN setup before first use. Read the accompanying instruction letter carefully. Never share your card number, CVV, or PIN with anyone—not even bank employees. Keep your card safe and sign the back immediately. Treat it like cash. Activation is your first step into the world of credit, so take it seriously.
